Starbucks brews some kombucha.
The chain of coffee announced that it is going to sell its line of fashionable fermented tea. Starbucks ( offers six flavors of kombucha under the juice brand Evolution and says that the drinks began to be delivered to grocers and retailers of natural products in selected cities. )
Why komucha? Hot drink is hot right now because of its probiotic punch and zingy flavor. Last year, sales of fermented tea amounted to 1.2 billion dollars, almost 40%, Starbucks says that "consumer interest" also increased in 2017. The network said that it does not plan to sell it in its own stores yet.
Touching a fast-paced drink can help Starbucks change its state. The recently established CEO Kevin Johnson said that customers spoiled on sweet drinks, such as Frappucino, and he wants the brand to sell more healthy drinks. Kombucha evolution is low in calories and has 3 to 7 grams of sugar depending on taste.
"We know that our consumers are looking for drinks with functional benefits, and Evolution Fresh Organic Kombucha is exactly what they ask for – a delicious and refreshing pickup that also supports digestion," said Ryan Siegelmann, president of Starbucks Evolution Fresh brand, the statement said,
This drink will make its debut in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle before the fall of this year will spread to more cities. Some flavors include ginger lemon honey, pink grapefruit and mango pineapple and will be sold for $ 3.99 per bottle of 15.2 ounces.
