Tyson also turned to the process by which Musk explored the possibility turning Tesla into a private company, stating that Musk must be accountable to the public, as Tesla trades in public markets.
"He must obey the SEC, clearly. But if he does not want to obey the SEC, then he must have a private company, then he can do what he wants, "Tyson said.
Musk sparked controversy in August over his statements about the desire to take Tesla privately, which raised questions about the assurance of Musk financing mentioned in the tweets, and where exactly this funding came from. Fox Business and The New York Times reported that the SEC sent a summons to Tesla about Tesla's plans for studying the forthcoming private and muscular statements about the process. Musk eventually said that Tesla would be remain open to company,
Tyson later said that he was a Muscovite fan, suggesting that he was one of the most innovative people working today.
