Local firms unveil car prototype with 100% home content

Two Nigerians and their companies collaborated in the development and development of a prototype car with 100 percent local content, IVIXI AIV,

Innosson Motors, manufactured in an assembly plant in Nigeria

At a press conference dedicated to the prototype car in Lagos, Dapo Akintunde, architect, car designer and founder of the IVIXI Design project and Azuka Ijekeye, industrialist and founder of Interstreet Messenger Limited, said the car design was driven by many elements of Nigerian life.

They stated that the design and development of the prototype is related to “original thinking”, adding that the production was based on 100% local content in both materials and human capital.

“This is a home icon. Its main, dimensional and truss mainframe provides protection against various mocking hooligans. This car is high for protection against its light composition, but its low center of gravity prevents any kinds of tipping over. It packs information about the 2018 supercar because it will provide additional power to the inverter to supply its owner with electricity, a scarce commodity for many people in West Africa. The flooring of the body is as smooth as any product from well-known automotive industries. Its interior uses an original leather skin, hand-sewn in a beautifully complex weave, ”they said.

Akintunde further stated: “Automotive lights (like the entire car) are aerodynamic in design and made with laser precision. The car grill is intricate in its structure, but whole in its existence. The windshield was manufactured at the factory, combining laser cutting and controlled bending processes with critical human thinking.

“This product is a real bargain for the Nigerian auto industry. Its authenticity should grow under sub-industries for various components — drive and suspension, electronics, internal parts, lights, windshield and mirrors, rubber and plastic parts, and everything else. ”
