LaLiga Santander – Rayo Vallecano 2-3 Barcelona Desperate to play for Spain again
It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Jordi Alba has been the most in-from Spaniard this season, but Luis Enrique has continued to overlook him in his Spain squads, though the Barcelona man is hopeful this will change.
The left-back star delivered yet another assist on Saturday evening as the Catalans launched a late turnaround to beat Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish capital.
“I’m doing things right for my team and hopefully I’ll have the prize of the national team,” Jordi Alba said after the game.
“I will do everything I can to go, as I always have done, as I intend to continue playing for the national team.
“I work for it and I’ll be looking out for Luis Enrique‘s list.”
Barcelona don’t appear to have missed Lionel Messi that much, but the full-back insists they cannot wait to have him back.
“We’ve been waiting for him since he got injured,” he said.
“He’s vital for us.”
Alba and co. now travel to Italy this midweek for a Champions League clash with Inter.
