LaLiga: Alaves’ Laguardia and Pacheco in high demand
LaLiga Garitano risks losing two important players
Alaves face a battle to keep two highly-rated players this summer, with centre-back Victor Laguardia and goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco attracting plenty of interest.
Valencia are intent on adding Laguardia to their squad, while Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui is keen on signing Pacheco, who he has worked with previously with Spain‘s youth teams. Pacheco has also caught the eye of some clubs in the Premier League.
Alaves‘ sporting director, Sergio Fernandez, has revealed that the club are only willing to sell if the right offer comes in.
Laguardia and Pacheco signed long-term contracts with the Basque club last September, meaning their transfers are likely to come at a considerable price.
Both players, who helped Alaves achieve an 11th-placed finish last season, have been monitored by a number of clubs that will compete in European competition this coming campaign.
Alaves are open to signing new players before the transfer market closes, but much will depend on the futures of their stars at the back.
