Kyrgios: Nadal does not know me and I will not listen to what he says
Tennis Replied to the Spaniard’s comments
Rafael Nadal accused Nick Kyrgios of being disrespectful after his victory over the Spaniard, with the Australian indicating the will refuse to take on the legend’s advice.
Kyrgios prevailed over Nadal in the second round of the Mexican Open and celebrated by pointing to his ear, while being booed by the crowd.
“Rafa does not know me and I will not listen to what he says as each person is how he is,” said Kyrgios.
“For example, he is very slow before he serves and although the rule says that you have to hurry, he goes beyond the norm.
“I’m not going to get into how he plays, however.”
Earlier, Nadal criticised his opponent of lacking respect towards him and the crowd.
“I think he is a good boy, but he lacks a bit of respect for the crowd, the rival and himself as well,” he noted.
“He is a player who has a huge talent and he could win a Grand Slam and fight for the top positions in the rankings, but there is a reason why he is where he is.”
