Comedian, Amy Sedaris will join ‘Lion King’ as elephant shrew – Movies


54-year-old comedian, Amy Sedaris will join Chiwetel Ejiofor and Beyonce on the set of the adaptation of Disney’s animated feature, ‘Lion King.’

Sedaris reportedly joined the ‘Lion King’ team day after the first trailer of the Jon Favreau movie was released by Disney on YouTube.

The American actress, author, and comedian, who is known for playing the character ‘Jerri Blank’ in the Comedy Central TV series, ‘Strangers with Candy,’ will be playing the role of Elephant Shrew.

Sedaris’ character, Elephant shrew, is a new character that was not in the original animation film.

Though it is unknown how Sedaris’ role and new character plays into the established roles of the story that include Nala, Simba, Scar and Mufasa, Favreau is determined to bring some twist to the plot.

The ‘Lion King,’ according to Disney will be out on July 19, 2019.
