Celta vs Real Madrid Critical of VAR
Despite not sitting on the bench, Antonio Mohamed appeared in the press room after the match and was critical of the VAR during his Celta side’s game against Real Madrid.
The coach was clearly incensed at the award of a second half penalty that took the game out of reach for his side.
“I have seen the play on television and there is no penalty when Junca challenges Odriozola and a very clear one from Lucas Vazquez to Emre Mor that was not noted,” he said to the media.
“I want to congratulate my players for the effort they have made.
“It was a match that Real Madrid deserved for their greater effectiveness.”
In conceding that Los Blancos were the better side, he still felt Celta didn’t deserve to ship four goals.
“We didn’t play so badly,” he continued.
“To have conceded four goals, I’m sad because we wanted to give our people joy and at 2-1, we were very close to the draw.”
Mohamed also praised the contributions of Okay Yokuslu and Brais Mendez.
“Both were at a very good level,” he added.
“The Turkish player is already fully integrated, while Brais continues to grow.”
